Meteor moves into Aviation Security - June 2010
Director of Security Services for Meteor Security at Heathrow Airport, Khush Homji, has recently completed a course in Aviation Security (ASM), run by Redline Aviation Security Ltd, which will allow Meteor to provide security to the aviation sector.
Historically aviation security has been controlled by only a few companies and Meteor Security are looking forward to offering a fresh approach to Airport Authorities, Airlines and aviation ground handling companies.
The course targets the issues raised by the current security climate and heightened threat levels, taking into account the motivations and tactics which have been used recently and those which are possible for future attacks on aviation.
Said Khush,
“The course was very intense and challenging but at the same time fascinating. I found the section on counter terrorist measures particularly interesting.’
Despite the wider Go Ahead Group having experience in aviation related fields, aviation security is not something that Meteor have previously been involved in and they are looking forward to moving into this growing market. It means a new field, a fresh set of opportunities and challenges and more growth for the organisation in challenging times.
